AUTO
At the Blauman Insurance Agency we offer standard auto insurance as well as coverage for collector cars. With auto insurance premiums constantly on the rise it is especially important to make sure you have adequate coverage and are getting the service required for proper asset protection. If you were ever involved in an accident and found to be at-fault for someone else’s bodily injuries, you could literally lose everything if you are not properly insured. If you are a homeowner and you don’t have adequate coverage for an at fault auto insurance claim they will potentially come after you for other assets like your home. This is why at our agency we have the tough conversations today, so we don’t have to have worse conversations later. No two insurance contracts are the same, and while two policies side-by-side might look the same, the fine print behind the cover page can vary drastically from company to company.Â
Common Rating Variables
Age - Insurance companies use your age in their overall ratings. Drivers who are younger and over 65 typically don’t get preferred rates because statistics show that those two age demographics have a higher loss frequency and are therefore considered more at risk for loss due to an auto accident.
Credit - Credit is a metric that has been used in insurance scoring for many years. The better your credit, the more favorable your rates will usually be.
Car - the type of car, engine size/horse power, safety features, potential repair cost etc.. are all part of determining the rate.
Driving History - Your driving record and loss history plays a substantial role in the premium price. If you have any accidents or tickets within the last three years chances are you won’t get a preferred rate until those things are at least 3 years old.
Prior insurance History – Your current/prior liability limits as well as your length of continuous liability coverage also helps determine rate. Those who carry higher limits and do not have lapses in coverage over time will receive more favorable rates.
Household — Insurance companies underwrite at the household level, meaning they try to judge based on the entire household, what the probability of loss will be. If there are multiple drivers in the house who are under the age of 25, that will impact everyone’s pricing in the household. Young drivers
Coverages
Liability – Bodily injury & property damage

Liability coverage will pay if an insured is legally obligated to pay damages due to bodily injury & property damage to others arising from an “at fault” accident. To put it simply liability pays for other people’s medical bills and their property damage up to the policy limits. Coverage amounts are selected in split limits. i.e. 100/300/100. The first limit indicates the maximum amount that can be paid for medical per person. The second limit indicates the maximum amount to be paid for medical in total per occurrence. The last limit being the total amount paid for property damage per occurrence. The Washington state minimum required limits are 25/50/10. This is still considered heavily under insured. For homeowners we recommend 100/300/100 at a minimum and our agency always recommends 250/500/100.
Un-insured & under-insured

In the event you are hit by another party and they do not have enough coverage or simply do not have it at all. This is important because we have no control over the limits that other drivers may carry. Un-insured motorist would also cover you in the event of a hit and run accident as well.
Comprehensive Coverage

This coverage also protects your car, but in the event that something else damages your car, that is not a fixed, or moving object. For example, most things out of your control like theft, vandalism, a rock that cracks your windshield, a collision with an animal, and so on. The rock chip on the windshield is one of the most common auto insurance claims. We always want to see a lower comprehensive deductible so if a window or windshield is ever cracked or broken it can be covered.
Collision Coverage

This part of your policy covers your car in the event you damage the car itself, as a result of an accident with a fixed or moving object like another car, a curb, a building, a guard rail, etc.. Pretty straight forward. If your at fault and want your damage fixed you pay your deductible we pay the rest to fix the property damage.
Other coverages offered: Personal injury protection, towing/roadside assistance, rental coverage/loss of use, accident forgiveness, glass repair/replacement, rideshare endorsement.
